Welcome to TIP JAR. By using our platform at tippjar.app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. About TIP JAR

TIP JAR is a tipping platform that allows individuals including service workers, musicians, freelancers, and content creators to receive gratuities from their fans and customers. We are not a bank or financial institution. We facilitate payments between tippers and creators using Stripe.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use TIP JAR. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate.

3. Acceptable Use

TIP JAR is designed for legitimate tipping of real individuals for their services, performances, or content. You agree to use TIP JAR only for lawful purposes.

You may NOT use TIP JAR for:

Adult content or sexually explicit material
Illegal goods or services
Gambling or betting
Fraudulent or deceptive activity
Money laundering
Harassment or abuse of other users
Spam or automated tips
Impersonating another person

4. Platform Fees

TIP JAR charges a 5% platform fee on all card payments processed through Stripe. This fee is added to the tip amount paid by the tipper. Direct payments via Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, and Zelle are not subject to platform fees as they are processed directly between users.

5. Payments and Payouts

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Creators must create a Stripe Connect account to receive card tips. TIP JAR is not responsible for delays in payouts caused by Stripe or banking institutions. All payment disputes are handled according to Stripe's policies.

6. Content Moderation

TIP JAR prohibits the following content on our platform:

Adult or sexually explicit content
Content promoting violence or illegal activity
Hate speech or discriminatory content
Spam or misleading information

We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines without prior notice.

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates our Terms of Service. Users who are terminated will forfeit any pending payouts if the termination is due to fraudulent activity.

8. Privacy

We collect only the information necessary to operate the platform including your name, email, and payment information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Payment data is handled securely by Stripe.

9. Limitation of Liability

TIP JAR is not liable for any losses arising from the use of our platform including but not limited to payment failures, account suspensions, or disputes between tippers and creators.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email. Continued use of TIP JAR after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
